Working Principle At its core, a low voltage DC relay consists of an electromagnetic coil, a movable armature, and contacts that either open or close to control the circuit. This movement alters the state of the relay contacts: a normally open (NO) contact closes to complete the circuit, while a normally closed (NC) contact opens to break the circuit.
